Jim Geier, President

Jim is a senior human resources executive with more than 25 years of global and board-level corporate and consulting experience. During his distinguished career, Jim has proven his ability to drive shareholder value by focusing on business strategy, business issues, and organizational dynamics to design and implement practical and effective human capital strategies. He has impacted business performance by developing and implementing global HR strategy, assisting in the evaluation of acquisitions and divestitures, leading acquisition integration, developing and coaching senior management teams, and designing management development programs in top companies in manufacturing,  life sciences, healthcare and  financial services.

Previously, Jim was Vice President, Human Resources and a member of the senior management team at Quaker Chemical Corporation, a publicly traded global chemical manufacturer with business in more than 20 countries. Jim developed Quaker’s first integrated global HR strategy—involving compensation, benefits, employee engagement  cultural change, and HR effectiveness—to support and drive the achievement of Quaker’s business strategy and shareholder value. Before Quaker, Jim was Vice President, Human Resources for the Americas Region at Rhône-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals (today Sanofi-Aventis), a global life sciences company. 

Jim serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union. Previously, he served as an elected member of the Executive Committee and as chair the Board's HR Committee. He also is on the Board of the Philadelphia Young Playwrights, where he serves as Vice President, as Chair of the Board Development Committee, and as a member of the Executive Committee. He is a member of Pennsylvania BIO and the National Association of Corporate Directors.

M&A Integration

  • Managed the human capital issues for the integration of two early stage biotechnology clients.
  • Developed an integration plan to insure consistency of human resources operating policies and procedures for a long-term care facility acquired by regional $200 million long-term care operation.

Program Design and Implementation

  • In conjunction with the Compensation Committee, developed a compensation strategy and pay package for the President and CEO of a privately held $ 13- million services client.
  • Managed the design of a non-qualified executive retirement plan for the US-based executives of a global $400 million manufacturing client. Final product included retirement strategy, plan design, communication, funding, and implementation plan.
  • Developed and designed a U.S. compensation strategy for a $40 million global supplier to the automotive industry. Strategy included revised job titles, job descriptions, salary structure, and career ladders.

Leadership Development

  • Developed and conducted a team-building program to facilitate organizational change for the US Commercial Operations leadership team of a $ 2 billion global biotechnology client.
  • Developed a senior management succession plan for a $400 million global manufacturing client in conjunction with CEO and Compensation Committee of the Board. Plan included a revised organization structure, position descriptions, compensation package, and individual development plans.
  • Coached and mentored senior human resource executives in the manufacturing, construction, and healthcare industries.

Human Capital Strategy

  • Developed a blueprint for the key human capital processes and the role of the human resources function for a privately held $50 million third-party services client.
  • Managed all human capital activities (i.e., executive compensation, incentive plans, and succession planning) for the Compensation Committee of a publicly traded $400 million global manufacturing client.
  • In conjunction with the senior management team of $800 million privately held construction company, designed the type of human resources function required to support the achievement of their short-and long-term business strategy.
  • Developed a blueprint for a human capital strategy and human resource department delivery model for a $300 million non-profit health care system.

 

Thomas (Tom) E. Wozniak,
Compensation Practice Leader

Tom Wozniak works with for-profit (private and public) and nonprofit organizations in all areas of employee compensation planning including design of incentive plans for individuals and work teams, equity participation plans, and deferred compensation arrangements. Additionally, he consults with senior executives on organization design, job role definition, and Human Resources Management policies and practices including regulatory compliance.

Prior to his affiliation with Human Capital Consulting Partners, Wozniak founded and served as Managing Principal for Strategic Compensation Planning, Inc, in Malvern, PA. Earlier, he was US practice leader for cash compensation consulting with Sedgwick Noble Lowndes and had also worked as a Senior Consultant with WMS & Co., a Philadelphia- based consulting firm specializing in point-factor base pay systems (programs similar to those offered by the Hay Group). Tom's experiences in corporate human resources management with Xerox Corporation (information management products) and SEI Corporation (trust management/investment advisory services) coupled with diverse consulting assignments across many industries enable him to bring strong technical skills and a sound business perspective to client situations.

Wozniak holds a BA in Economics from St. John Fisher College, Rochester, NY. He is a member of WorldatWork (formerly the American Compensation Association) and the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals. Tom has authored articles on executive compensation trends and Workforce 2000. He has been quoted in leading financial and business publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Philadelphia Business Journal, and The Economist and Wealth magazines.

 

Merom Klein, PhD
Team Effectiveness Practice Leader

Dr. Merom Klein has 30 years of experience in leadership development, change management, and team mobilization with major corporations, entrepreneurial businesses, and government agencies in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Pacific Rim, and the Middle East. As a facilitator, Merom is provocative and probing, using simulations and other action learning methods to show teams and leaders how they can get "unstuck" and pull together to turn frustration and adversity into opportunity and triumph. Merom has served as the lead designer of leadership and team training simulations to enhance change-readiness and lift the courage needed to mobilize molecular or matrix teams.

His work has been incorporated into Executive Leadership Institutes for clients like Rafa”el, Israel’s Electric Cooperative, Johnson & Johnson, ARAMARK, Bayer, Aetna, Kodak, Lockheed Martin, DSTA Fonterra, Elan, Neiman Marcus, KeyCorp, North Carolina Baptist Hospital, JP Morgan, NASA, IBM Business Partner Education, Nine West Group, Electronic Payment Systems, Motorola, CIGNA, Greenleaf Asia, GE, Intel, Pennsylvania’s Departments of Transportation and Environmental Resources, and the MRC.

 

Louise (Yochee) Klein, PsyD

Dr. Louise Klein has more than a decade of experience as an advisor to top executives, technical thought-leaders and middle managers who are lifting performance and orchestrating change in major corporations, entrepreneurial businesses, healthcare institutions, and government agencies in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. As a change-mobilization and courage-building advisor, Klein is engaging and pragmatic, using real business imperatives as opportunities to practice and perfect new change-management skills. Louise leaves her clients with tools to read verbal and nonverbal cues and diagnose the courage of their teammates — and the self awareness to manage their own emotions when they face conflict, scrutiny or frustration.
